Belton Fire Dept. received notification this past week that we will receive approximately $30,000 dollars in federal grant money. The funding will provide advanced vehicle extrication training for our members throughout this year. This training will enhance our response and operation in the event someone is trapped in passenger cars, school buses or big rig vehicles. The training will also take our members from awareness to technician level in vehicle rescue. It will also provide the necessary funds to complete the training room at City Hall. New multimedia equipment, furniture, sound system, and computers will be installed to better our training program.
