BFD takes part in "Rippin Rescue"

On Saturday April 2, three members from Belton Fire attended the "Rippin Rescue" auto extrication class held in Westminster.  The training was provided through Howell Rescue Systems and the Westminster Fire Department.  Daren Vaughn, Matt Floyd, and Brad Maness spent all day rotating through five challenging skill stations that increased their knowledge in the extrication field.  Topics covered were stabilization, new car technology, school buses, under rides, and more.  Students used hydraulic, air powered, electric and hand tools to overcome the problems encountered.  This training further enhanced our capability when responding and operating with victims trapped in vehicles.
