Great Day on the Diamond!

On Saturday, May 28th, firefighters from Anderson City, Belton, Rock Springs and Friendship gathered for a double elimination softball tournament held at Leda Poore Park.  The event turned out great with approximately 100 people, including players and families, converging to cheer on their team.  The tournament started with a warm welcome from Chief Alan Sims and Pastor Ron Culbertson led all in prayer.  In the first game, Belton was shell shocked as Anderson City's bats were too much to match.  The second game was a shootout as Rock Springs overtook Friendship.  Anderson earned a trip to the championship game by knocking off Rock Springs in extra innings.  Belton then came alive by winning the next three games as they earned the right to play Anderson again in the championship.  In the end Anderson took bragging rights as they completed the tournament without a loss.  It was an awesome day of fun and friendly competition.  Thanks to all who came out and our own Ryan Sams for setting up the tournament.  If anything this strengthened our working relationships between all departments and not to mention increased sales for ICY HOT!
