Structure Fire--Griffin Rd.

On Thursday morning, approx. 7:20 am, Belton firefighters were called to assist Rock Springs and Cheddar Fire Departments on a structure fire in the 100 block of Griffin Rd.  Engine 2 and Car 1 responded initially with Engine 1shortly after.  Engine 2 arrived first to find heavy smoke issuing from a one story residential.  Griffin Rd. command was established and one attack line was placed in serviced quickly.  Engine 1 caught a plug to establish a water supply.  Three BFD members and one RSFD member made quick work of the fire, keeping the damage mainly to the kitchen and dining room.  A quick search proved negative as the occupant made it out unharmed.  Cheddar firefighters assisted with salvage and overhaul and all equipment was taken up and placed back in service.  Great job by some of the new blood!  Photos courtesy of Tracy Eller, Luke Riddle and Brad Maness.
