BFD Completes TARS Auto Extrication

On November 11-12, eight members of the Belton Fire Department completed the TARS Basic Auto Extrication program.  This course was 24 hours in length and provided the students with a solid foundation of training to prepare them for the advanced courses coming up.  Topics covered were conventional and hybrid cars, stabilization, patient care, use of hand, hydraulic and pneumatic tools.  Joe Woodman of Greenville County EMS provided instruction and the skills sessions were held at Adam's Junk Yard on White Horse Rd. in Greenville.  Huge thanks to Joe and Adam's for all of their assistance. Members in attendance were Chief Alan Sims, Lt. Brad Stevens, Engineer Gene Harris, Engineer Ryan Sams, Engineer Brady Norris, Firefighter Micheal Browning, Firefighter Brent Daritey, Firefighter Thomas Stevens.
