The City of Belton hosted a certified child safety seat inspection course from November 16-19. All BFD full-time employees and two from the Belton Police Department attended the class and obtained the technician level training to allow Belton to become a certified check point area for families needing their child safety seats checked. The course met national standards from NHTSA and AAA/Safe Kids. Instructors from DHEC were Anne Stone and Kevin Poore. Jackie McCall, from AnMed Emergency Services, also assisted with the course. You may contact the Belton Fire or Police Departments if you have any questions regarding your safety seats or if you would like to set up an appointment to have them checked. Belton Fire employees attending were Chief Alan Sims, Captain Brad Maness, Lt. Brad Stevens, Engineer Gene Harris and Engineer Ryan Sams. Belton Police employees were Sergeant Mitch Lowe and Corporal Andrew Cwynar.
