BFD Training - January 2012

During the month of January, BFD members met for two regular training meetings and covered several topics ranging from fireground tactics to medical training and a review of fire/rescue knots.  Please contact Capt. Maness in regards to completing make-up training.

January 9th
Strategy and Tactics training with a review of scene size up.  Members rwatched several fireground videos and discussed tactical and operational concerns.  Click on the links below to access these videos and ask yourself "what would you do?"  Consider what size up you would give for each incident and go through RECEO (VS) to formulate an IAP.

January 23rd
Medical first responder skills training.  Members reviewed the layout of Belton EMS ambulances and gained working knowledge of stretchers, stair chairs, oxygen administration, obtaining vitals including blood pressure, and setting up IV bags.  After this was complete the following knots were practiced.  Bowline, Clove Hitch, Handcuff Knot, Figure 8 family, Butterlfy, and Double Fishermans
