On May 3, four Belton FD members were recognized at the Health Care Heroes Banquet held at the TD Convention Center in Greenville, SC. The event was put on by the GSA Business Journal and was organized to recognize those that work hard everyday to save lives. These four firefighters were awarded as finalist due to their life-saving actions and resuscitation of a 38 year old male in cardiac arrest. After several minutes of CPR and defibrillation the patient was transported and able to breathe on his own two days later. Early CPR by the patient's wife and the professional response by these four members contributed to saving this man's life. Congratulations to Lt. Riddle, Eng. Norris, Eng. Sams, FF Eller on this recognition. Great job!
