A couple of new pieces of equipment are now in use at the fire station. An MSA Altair gas meter has been purchased to compliment the other MSA meters we currently have. It is a four gas monitor that detects oxygen levels, carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulfide and percentage of the LEL. Another neat tool is the Whizzer Saw which is more commonly called an air cut off saw. It operates at 90psi and can be very beneficial is confined areas, brake and gas pedal, vehicle skin, machinery entrapment, etc. All firefighters need to make themselves familiar with this equipment.
