Structure Fire Hwy 29 6/29/12

Several Belton firefighters provided manpower to County firefighters at a large structure fire last Friday afternoon.  The fire was reported around 2pm near the Anderson Jockey Lot.  Whitefield firefighters arrived first to find a large structure completely involved.  Other agencies assisting were: Cheddar, West Pelzer, Williamston, Hopewell, Broadway and Rock Springs.  Williamston EMS provided a valuable resource with their rehab vehicle.  Temperatures over 100 degrees wreaked havoc on firefighters causing them to rest after only 10-15 minutes of work.  Despite the many diffferent agencies, it was a great cooperative effort by all.
