On Monday, September 10, Belton firefighters met for regular bi-monthly training. The subject for the drill night was based on rope rescue operations. Firefighters practiced building anchor systems such as using pickets and large vehicles. A ladder gin was constructed to give rescue personnel a high directional when transitioning over edges. Finally, our members practiced building and operating a lowering system using a bar rack and converting that to a haul system by way of the 3:1 Z-rig. We knocked a little rust off but all in all the guys did a fine job.
