On Monday, September 23, Belton firefighters met for regular bi-monthly training and participated in a hands-on rope rescue drill. A steep slope beside the bridge on River St. provided an excellent spot for our members to hone their skills. A victim was located on the railroad tracks and firefighters had to be lowered to the patient, properly package it and then was hauled up the slope by a rigging team. The "rescue" went well and the task was completed in a quick, safe manner. Great job by everyone!
