I know this is a late post but it must be done. Last Tuesday marked the 11th anniversary of the attacks on 9/11. Although it has been some time ago we must still never forget the emergency workers and civilians who lost their lives in the multiple attacks on our homeland. It is still hard to fathom the magnitude of those events and the heroic actions of the 343 FDNY members who gave it all in the face of danger. That is true heroism and although our department is far away from the New York, each year on September 11th WE ARE ALL FDNY! Let's also not forget our courageous men and women in the Armed Forces that have fought and continue to fight the war on terrorism. We are no doubt a safer America today as a result of your sacrifices. In just a small way the BFD can say thanks, each Friday our members on duty will be wearing camo pants and red shirts that state, "Belton FD supports our troops" and "The only easy day was yesterday."
