February Training

During the month of February, Belton firefighters focused on two areas to build their skill set.  The first training of the month found our members practicing all knots used in fire/rescue situations.  Some included: Figure 8 family, Butterfly, clove hitch, handcuff, bowline, water knot.  Members then reviewed the pre-rigged haul safe and practiced constructing a tandem prussik belay, 3:1 and 4:1 haul system.  Our second training focused on the skills needed to supply a downed firefighter with air.  Members reviewed all RIT equipment and practiced the following: universal RIC connection, regulator change, and full facepiece change.
