Long Time Fire Dept. Member Retires

Eng. Harris talks about his time at BFD
It is with great respect that Belton Fire announces the retirement of long-time employee Gene Harris.  Engineer Harris joined the department in 1987 and has faithfully served his entire 25 years in his hometown.  This accomplishment truly serves as a token to Gene's commitment to this department and our city.  Monday night marked the final training session for Engineer Harris as members met to honor Gene and his family for the work he has done.  Chief Sims and others shared some nice stories from the past and Gene was recognized from Mayor Callaham for his dedication to Belton.  Engineer Harris also shared some final words of the night stating, "He truly enjoyed the friendships that were built between all of the members, and he will always remember them."  Gene, from all of us, thanks for your service in the brotherhood, but more importantly we thank you for your friendship.  Gene plans to relax for a while and put in some quality time in woodworking.  Below are a few photos of the dinner held Monday.
