Close Call at Local Business

Late Thursday night, Belton firefighters were alerted for a commercial structure fire at Foster's Meats on Oneal St.  Belton E-1 and C-1 responded and upon arrival of E-1, heavy fire and smoke conditions were visible from the Charlie side of the structure.  Honea Path Quint 1 as well as units from Rock Springs provided assistance.  Lines were quickly stretched to control the delivery truck fire and ensure there was no extension inside the main structure.  Parts of the building did suffer exposure damage, but due to the quick deployment and operation of the first line no serious damage was encountered.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.
